Conspiracy: two (or more) persons who together commit a crime, other harmful action, in secret. Combine privately for unlawful purpose (treason, murder, sedition, to ruin another person(s), to maintain silence about such a harmful act).
I’d love to see it explained how corrupt corporations and corrupt government officials can work together without actually working together, since if they DO work together they are in a CONSPIRACY. It’s happened repeatedly with regulatory agencies that they’re in bed with the same corporations that they are supposed to be monitoring.
Some folks seem to have this crazy idea that corruption in government is always a solitary act, as if everyone involved in a cover-up or taking bribes or plotting illegal actions “just happen” to be doing stuff while totally unaware of the other people that they’re dealing with…..

The term “conspiracy theory” being used in as derogatory manner goes only back to the aftermath of the JFK assassination. It was used and spread intentionally by USA government mouthpieces and the American media in order to attack those who were were sceptical of the official story about the JFK’s death and the results of the Warren Commission. It’s a particular “Americanism” to use it that way now, which is unfortunate and actually dangerous to democracy because it has become a knee-jerk response to any and all counterpoints to the establishment narrative. It used to dismiss evidence of corruption, unethical chicanery, policies made by people with conflicts of interest. It’s used to shut people up.

We are collectively nodes in a network of information gathering, collection, and analysis. The good links persist, the bad links perish. Those who tap into the more truthful information sources are going to come out ahead in any crisis where the accuracy of the information is important. Simply dismissing without thought, is wilful adherence to delusion by denying any evidence contrary to that delusion.
In this case, the delusion that there are no conspiracies. It’s a denial of human nature; people conspire, and often people in positions of authority and/or wealth will conspire with others to ensure their situation improves even further. It’s a denial of the uncomfortable reality that not everyone has good intentions, and that some people have malevolent intentions towards others. We have factions in governments, with one group of people trying to get ‘their’ agenda furthered against the wishes of others. Groups in conflict and competition. Individuals with plots working with others whose interests may encourage alliance for awhile.
Every secret society is a conspiracy. Organised crime is based on conspiracy. Intelligence agencies couldn’t function without conspiracies. Not everyone furthering a conspiracy need know all it’s parts, or even know they themselves are tools of the conspiracy, because a good plan often is protected by compartmentalisation of information. In that way, a handful of people can carry out plans that require the unknowing participation of thousands or more; all the rest having zero knowledge of any nefarious plot at all despite being part of carrying it out.

Nature seems to just by “coincidence” create exact, identical, genetic sequence inserts from HIV (cause of AIDS), in a corona virus that’s totally unrelated to HIV. Those who pretend that completely different viruses – different species of viruses at that – from India, Kenya, and the USA flew to China to have sexy fun times with the SARS corona virus (which is not even the same species). That’s a problem with viruses. Out in the wild, unlike those studied in a lab, out in the natural world viruses will mutate, they change, they become quickly uncontrolled and turn into something unintended and perhaps more frightening and dangerous and a lot more worrying.
Whether it was an accidental leak from the lab facility in Wuhan or not, it was incredibly stupid of the Chinese government to put a BL4 genetic engineering capable facility like that in a city of 11 million people only walking distance from a crowded popular market place.
If someone else was responsible for the virus – as a bioweapon deliberately used – the Chinese Communist Party allowed themselves to be perfect patsies by having such a facility like that in such a location. Which makes them doubly stupid.
However, it’s not only the Chinese government leaders who are exposed as stupid by the Wuhan Flu pandemic.
